About the show

What do we talk about on the podcast?

This is not a running news podcast and we’re not chasing the hottest stories in ultrarunning (usually). Running 200-milers and multi-night events is inherently a little nuts, so we like to get to know the stories behind the people who show up at the start line. And we like to have a little fun while we talk about it.

Human interest stories

Runners of all ages and abilities, and the stories behind the people at the start line.

Training techniques

We go deep into training techniques for the longest races out there.

Nutrition

The dos and don’ts of fueling for 200 miles and beyond, plus some questionable ultra snack reviews.

Recovery

How to recover well, or not, and get ready for the next one because there is no finish line.

Sleep strategy

The elusive sleep strategy, discussed ad nauseam. We’ll stop once we’ve finally figured it out.

Course previews

Detailed, section-by-section previews of many of the top 200-milers.

Our listeners range from rookies who are “200 curious” to seasoned veterans of the sport. The 200+ mile distance is growing fast, and runners of every age, ability and background are still figuring out the best way to take on these challenges. Elites can learn from party-pacers, and we can all learn from each other. Many listeners tell us they learned everything they needed to know about 200-milers from our podcast, but if you’re ready to toe the line, we also offer great coaching options.

Meet the hosts

Kevin and Peter: a co-hosting match made in heaven?

Kevin and Peter met on a runcation to run the iconic Grand Canyon rim-to-rim-to-rim route. They were total strangers with one mutual friend, one of “the Gabes.” They didn’t even run together that day, but the chemistry was undeniable.

The rest is history.
